Tim Symes — Commercial & Documentary Editor
I'm Tim Symes, a commercial and documentary editor based in Squamish, BC, with over 20 years in post-production. I work across short-form documentary and brand films, and have cut work for clients including Honda, Toyota, the NBA, The North Face and PBS. Two decades in the edit suite have taught me that the job is equal parts craft and temperament: you need the experience to find the story, and a level head to keep it on course when the pressure builds. I work best with a calm, considered process — and I bring that to every project, from first assembly to final cut.
What I do
I take on projects as a picture editor across two areas:
- Commercial & brand film editing — brand films, broadcast commercials, and short-form content for agencies and brands.
- Documentary editing — short-form and long-form documentary, from selects and story assembly through to final cut.
